UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science
I veckan kom UNESCO:s rekommendationer rörande öppen vetenskap. Man har identifierat sju "key objectives and areas of action", nämligen:
- Promoting a common understanding of open science, associated benefits and challenges, as well as diverse paths to open science
- Developing an enabling policy environment for open science
- Investing in open science infrastructures and services
- Investing in human resources, training, education, digital literacy and capacity building for open science
- Fostering a culture of open science and aligning incentives for open science
- Promoting innovative approaches for open science at different stages of the scientific process
- Promoting international and multi-stakeholder cooperation in the context of open science and with view to reducing digital, technological and knowledge gaps.

Medlemskap i EOSC
Rektor beslutade i förra veckan att LU ska ansöka om medlemskap i EOSC, (European Open Science Cloud.) EOSC är ett medlemsdrivet internationellt program som syftar till att utveckla och sammanföra befintliga infrastrukturlösningar kring lagring, hantering, delning, analys och återanvändning av öppna forskningsdata. Fem svenska lärosäten är redan medlemmar.

Publicering via Elsevier
Det har gått tre månader sedan möjligheten att välja publicering bakom betalvägg togs bort hos Elsevier. Piloterna har nu utvärderats och allt föll väl ut. Därför kommer nu öppet tillgänglig publicering som enda alternativ att permanentas för alla organisationer i avtalet.

Qur’ānic Studies Online
HT har startat en prenumeration Qur’ānic Studies Online; Qur'anic Studies Online includes:
- Encyclopaedia of the Qur’ān Online is an encyclopaedic dictionary of qur’ānic terms, concepts, personalities, place names, cultural history and exegesis extended with essays on the most important themes and subjects within qur’ānic studies.
- Early Western Korans Online is a collection of 62 korans printed in Arabic type in several Western European cities between 1537 and 1857.
- Qurʾān Concordance is a unique finding aid which allows users to identify and localize text fragments, or even snippets, of the Qurʾān.
- Dictionary of Qurʾānic Usage is a fully-researched and contextualised Arabic-English dictionary of Qur'anic usage, compiled in accordance with modern lexicographical methods by scholars who have a lifelong immersion in Qur'anic Studies.
